British Painters 1770 - 1810
1727-1788
One of the most famous portrait and landscape painters of 18th century Britain.
It seems Gainsborough painted mostly in the time prior to the period we are looking at. However his work shows how extravagant the style was in the mid to late 18th century.
His work seems to mostly follow the upper-class of society, with references to some of the richest people at that time such as Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire.
